Sadly, I am not the first nor the last one to observe that the government of Canada keeps itself busy exclusively with matters of no interest to its people. They are high in the sky, thinking lofty thoughts about how wonderful it would have been if everyone was safe from gender frustration or how to enable everyone to change it as frequently as they would like. But mundane matters such as how small and medium-sized businesses make ends meet their needs or how to pay their employees’ salaries is if no interest to the exalted geniuses in Ottawa.
One month ago, Canada Post strike has begun. It is a 100% service interruption that includes both lettermail (utility bills, recurring invoicing, government notices, medical records and test results, government IDs, and lots more) and parcel post. People’s hearing aid batteries, prosthetics, medications, contact lenses, and much more are stuck in Canada Post warehouses and sorting facilities. Since Canada Post is 100% government-owned and subsidized, someone from our beloved government should have told the thugs from the CUPW that/how their greed kills people and businesses around Canada, but no, nobody seems to give any thought to viewing things from this perspective that is so obvious and natural.
Maybe the problem is systemic: Canada does not value human life or well-being?
Yes, this sounds bitter but this is my charter right to express myself however I like, so I choose to call a spade a spade: this strike is anti-human, and allowing it to continue is anti-human too. Live with this.
